Once you have completed the initial assessment, you can partner with your editor to help move your larger work to completion.

If you’d like to continue working with your editor, Wide Open Writing offers developmental editing for $70 per hour. Your editor will have provided you with an estimate for your project.

What to expect: Your editor will provide edits to story structure, character development, pacing, dialogue, and overall story arc with feedback on what works and what needs more attention. With poetry and short story collections, memoir, and essay collections, you are encouraged to raise specific questions with your editor along with including suggestions on story placement, themes, and overall readability. Note: Our editing service does not include proofreading edits.
