Tucson All Souls Retreat
November 3rd - 9th, 2016
Come join us in Tucson, Arizona for its enchanting, other-worldly All Souls Procession. All cultural traditions and all forms of expression swirl and sway through the streets of the city in a joyous event actively honoring death, loss and the fruitful darkness. Under wide skies and in the shadow of the city’s sacred mountains, we open to the page. Spend seven days and six nights in the transformative process of supported engagement with that which has seemed unwriteable.
Bring your grief, your creativity, your loneliness, curiousity and wonder.
Bring your willingness to explore your own depths.
Whether encountering the powerful openings which can follow the deaths of loved ones or hoping to transform the parts of ourselves to whom we’re wanting to say goodbye, as we write we transcend; joy awakens, magic is cultivated.

The cost is $2050 per person for a shared occupancy room on a ranch an hour outside the city, complete with all the things desert ranches have to offer. (Like a spectacularly starry night sky.) Cost also includes all meals and workshop fees. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is needed to secure your spot. Payment can be made by clicking the link below or by mailing a check to Wide Open Writing at the address listed below.
You, darkness, that I come from
I love you more than all the fires
that fence in the world,
for the fire makes a circle of light for everyone
and then no one outside learns of you.
But the darkness pulls in everything-
shapes and fires, animals and myself,
how easily it gathers them! -
powers and people-
and it is possible a great presence is moving near me.
I have faith in nights.
(Rainer Maria Rilke)
